Noun + ではあるまい "will probably not"
na-Adj.stem + ではあるまい "be probably not"
i-Adj.stem + はあるまい
U−Verb Inf.non-past + まい
Ru-Verb stem + まい

1)
「まい」is basically A written form and usually used in formal writing.
In conversation, either「だろう」or「でしょう」will be used instead of 「まい」.
2)
As you see in the above, in case of Ru-Verbs, stem(of masu) forms are sometimes used before
「まい」.
U-Verb <言う> 彼女は二度とうそなど言うまいと誓った。誓う(ちかう=swear.vow)
(She swore within herself that she would never tell A lie.
Ru-Verb <伝える> あの人にはこの話は伝えまい。
(I won't tell him this story.)
3)
Forms of Irregular verbs:
「する」ーーー> either 「すまい」 or 「するまい」
「くる」ーーー> either 「こまい」 or「くるまい」
4)
" Verb + まい" also expresses the speaker's negative volition.
[ present]: 彼には二度と会うまい。 (I will never meet him again.)
[past] : 彼には二度と会うまいと思った。(I swore within myself that I would never meet him.)
5)
「まい」is an auxiliary which expresses the speaker's negative volition. Therefore, in order to express someone else's negative volition, 「−と思う」「ーと決める」 etc.should be added.
トムは国へ帰るまい。 (I think Tom will probably not go back to his country.)
As you see in the translation, this sentence expresses the speaker's conjecture rather than
Tom's (the subject of the sentence) volition
トムは国へ帰るまいと思った。(Tom decided that he would not go back to his country.)

Other examples:
あの人はあの会社の社員ではあるまい。(He is probably not an employee of that company.)
この考えは建設的ではあるまい。(This idea is probably not constructive.)
建設的(けんせつてき=constructive)
この問題は難しくあるまい。(These questions are probably not difficult.)
