Reasons for Attending College

      Why people go to university and study? I think there are many reasons for each other. People go to the university because of many different of purposes. In common, they need to learn for their aims. However, I think that there are three main purposes. And, many people want to improve themselves at the university.

      First, some people want to learn more about their major they are interested in. In junior high school or high school, we study many kinds of subjects. And we can't study enough what we want to study. However in the university, we can choose and take what we want to take. So, university is a good surrounding to get more about their major.

      Second, some people go to university for their dreams. For example, one of my friends wants to be a fright attendant or grand hostess. She needs English knowledge and speaking skill. So, she studies English and practices speaking English. One of my other friends wants to be a teacher of preschool. She studies about infant’s education at college.

      Third, some people like me don't decide what they want to do for their job. In my case, I don't know what I want to do. Yet, I like English and to communicate with folk not only Japanese but also foreigner. Therefore, I want to use English for job. Besides, I try to various things and experience a lot. For instance, I want to try to study abroad. I want to find my dream during I am university student.

      In conclusion, people can study all one wants at the college. There are a lot of and various reasons for going to the university. There are three main purposes. But, I think that most of people want to improve themselves at the university.

Experience or Books

      Which source is more important knowledge gained from experience or books? I think that both are important, valuable, and necessary. So, I can't decide which is more important. But, for some resons, I think more important. Comparing the two sources, there are some similarities and differences. Besides, there are some good points for the two sources. So, I will think about these sides.

     First, I think about similarities of experience and books. Books and expediencies are sources of knowledge and learning. We usually study from books at elementary school, junior high school, and high school. For example, we use books when we study mathematics, history, science, and so on. But, when we study physical education or music, we do not use books, instead we learn from experience. For instance, we play basketball and know rule of basketball. So, both experience and books are used in school.

     Second, I think about differences about experience and books. When we learn from books, we tend to defensive. However, when we study by experiences, we are active and have to do actively. So, we can learn more naturally from experience.

     Third, I think about good points of books and experience. There are a lot of books in the world, and various people write books. So, we can learn much knowledge that I can't know from daily experiences. We use only eyes as we read books. But, we use many parts of body such as eyes, ears, hands, so on as we experience something. Therefore, learning from experiences are more memorial for us.

     In conclusion, there are some good points for the two sources. Besides, there are some similarities and differences between knowledge from experience and books. I think both are important, valuable, and necessary. Then, experience is easier to extinct knowledge. So, I think that knowledge from experience is more important.

Change in Your School

      If I could make one important change in a school that I attend, what change could I make? There are some problems in my college I think. The problem is about the department of school affairs. We can usually ask our question of curriculum and talk about worry in the class. But for some reasons, we can’t use enough all we want. I want to think and write the reasons and some solutions in this essay.

     First, my feeling of staffs that work at the department of school affairs is icy. Not all staffs are so cold, but some staffs are cold for students. When I asked some question about my curriculums to the staff beginning of semester, staff tells me properly, but she looks troublesomely. So I thought that I was sorry to ask such a question. There are some changes about registration of curriculum, so we have a lot of things which we don’t know. I know that many other students ask them similar questions again and again, but it can’t be helped. What’s more, staff made some mistakes, but she didn’t apologize a bit. They cannot help making mistakes, but I want her to apologize.

     Second, the department of school affairs is very crowded especially at the beginning of semester. There is a registration of curriculum at that time. Registration of curriculum is very complex, so we have a lot of questions about it. Then, many students go to the department of school affairs and want to ask. However, the place where we can ask is so few that we have to wait for long time. Moreover we can’t question enough. We can go to the central tower to ask only during recess or time when we have no class. Most students go there during recess at once. So, I want to add to places where we can ask and I want also to open the department of school affairs during lunch break.

     In conclusion, I have mainly two opinions about the department of school affairs. I want staffs to be more kind. Besides, I want to add to places where we can ask. So, we are able to use the department of school affairs more comfortably.
